I've bet on horses for years and in sports book or in the totes never ever see these odds why?
Answer: It is possible to obtain odds of 7/1 or 9/1 but I agree they do not appear very often. This is usually because odds greater than 5/1 tend to rise in even numbers e.g. 6/1, 8/1, 10/1 etc.
You are more likely to encounter decimal odds equivalent to 7/1 (8.0) and 9/1 (10.0)
