Rich Strike won twice on dirt...lost all races on turf.
How will he do at Pimlico..a turf track?
Answer: Unfortunately, Rich Strike isn't going to the Preakness, which is a 9.5F race held on dirt.
The race is generally won by a horse who sits closer to the pace (no farther back than 6th or 7th).
The horse's connections decided it was in the horse's best interest to have a break between the KY Derby and his next race, and they aren't deviating from the plan.
Pimlico has dirt and turf courses. All of our Triple Crown races are held on dirt.
We will see Rich Strike contest the Belmont Stakes on June 11.
