National Hunt Flat Race

Hey,
I have read that a horse can only have 3 national hunt flat races (I know there are exceptions for certain races, ie champion bumper at Cheltenham).

But when I was going through "Desertmore House" form it says that it has run 7 national hunt flat races.

Could you please explain, I can't find the answer anywhere.

Many thanks, kind regards.

Answer: No, there is no limit to the number of National Hunt flat races a horse can run in either the UK or Ireland. However, there are some restrictions on which horses can run in these races.

In the UK, National Hunt flat races are restricted to horses that are aged seven years or younger. In Ireland, there is no age restriction, but horses must have not previously run under any other form of racing except National Hunt flat or French AQPS races.

Horses can run in as many National Hunt flat races as they are eligible for, but it is important to remember that these races are designed to give horses experience on a racecourse before beginning a career in jumps racing. As a result, many trainers will only run their horses in a few National Hunt flat races before moving them on to jumps racing.

Here are some of the most popular National Hunt flat races in the UK and Ireland:

* **Champion Bumper:** This Grade 1 race is run at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

* **Winter Bumper:** This Grade 2 race is run at Newbury in November.

* **Aintree Champion Standard:** This Grade 2 race is run at Aintree in November.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
