Why do Professional Jockeys Not Ride In IRISH BUMPER RACES?
Answer: Bumper races are indeed restricted to amateur riders in Ireland(which gave rise to the name 'bumper' due to their ungainly style of riding resulting in frequent bumps)They are also now termed Irish National Hunt flat races (INH).
Some jockeys even specialise in this type of race e.g. Mr R P McNamara who won the Paddy Power Champion INH Flat Race (Grade 1) in April 2010 on Hidden Universe trained by D K Weld
