Horse races where no favourite is declared.

Why is there a rule in place when a favourite is withdrawn immediately before 'the off' no favourite is declared.

Friday 13/01/2017 7.15 Wolverhampton. I placed a bet on the 'favourite'. The shortest price horse of those that ran won. However, my bet was treat as a non runner.

Answer: On Betfair I think if your bet on the favourite becomes void due to withdrawal you would need to place a further bet on the new favourite. The new bet would not be placed for you.

Bookmakers may have different ways of dealing with this situation so check with the bookmaker used to place the bet. Use their help or contact us facilities.
