Hi

The compliments to the season to you all! A busy week with a few results that could have been better – but ‘That’s racing’ as ‘they’ say! On Good news Wotyoudunnow Buddy is waiting until the commentor gets his name right before winning – he completed to be 6th at Sedgefield and should come on from that run – he will go further next time. Velasco and Beaumesnil could have done better at Wetherby but they were hot races and 2 x 7ths is better than pulled up and they will be out again soon. Johnny Dogs went to Kelso where the ground turned against us for his first run in 6 months – just too far over 2.6 in that ground – he will shorten up and, we hope, learn to settle in his races for better times ahead.

The staff were very spoilt at Christmas and wish me to pass on their thanks to you all for pressies and good wishes! Since then they have not been spoilt with driving wind and rain – still the tuck box will be full for a while! We have a new boy in Codey Forster from Langholm – he aspires to be a jockey and we will help him in that aim. He is a good rider and will, hopefully, make the grade.

Still looking for more staff as we approach the New Year with all the youngsters coming back into work. They have all grown well during their break and will be ready to race again around March time. Newby mares Pinot Rouge and Theatre Light are building fitness nicely with TL doing her first piece of work with Nathan Moscrop this week ( Nathan will be coming in to ride out in the New Year as well as Sam and Edward ) she did very well and will head for a Novice mares hurdle at the end of the month. Pinot is also doing well and just needs some weight watchers sessions! Jimmybegood is ( finally ) putting his best foot forward and we will decide whether he is going on the Flat or in a bumper for his first run. We will have almost 30 horses in training in January – thanks to the support we get from you, our owners. I am now sorting through horses that need to qualify for the finals as time is marching on and the fianls are the beginning of May - I think this month will be among the busiest we have had kicking off with….

3rd January – meeting at Mark Johnstons yard to discuss a special project to get 35M into racing hmmmmmm

4th Newcastle – Royal Prospect over 7 and Mekbat ( if we get in ) over 1 mile

5th Musselburgh – Les’s Legacy back hurdling and maybe Ask my Heather

6th Newcastle Rock Steady Eddie first novice hurdle – En meme Temp Chasing and maybe Ask my Heather.

8th Newcastle Mekbat if we don’t get in the 6th.

An exciting year ahead and thanks again for all of the support! Best wishes Susan email:girsonfield@outlook.com Tel: 7713651215
