Hi

Susan Corbett's talks to the new Chief Exec of the BHA:

So not so good yesterday with Clear Angel at Redcar as the race was very fast and he decided to join in and ran his race over 5 furlongs rather than a mile – we live and learn. The good news is that he travels very well now loose in the lorry. It was a week of nearly getting into races...quite frustrating and the virus still goes on and horses for Uttox get scoped before declaring on Monday Morning.

I met the new Chief Exec of the British Horseracing Authority Julie Harrington and she was a lot more down to earth than I thought and has had a lot more Racing experience in her career than the Racing Post would suggest! She was at Uttoxeter Racecourse for ten years for a start. She has a difficult task getting to grips with many things including the Gambling Paper, racing on Sundays and Twilight meetings. I will send more on this when I get the minutes of the meeting. Interesting to hear other trainers points of view.

The summer is nearly over and we are set to have a busy Autumn with the Flat and Summer Jumpers ready to go after Virus delays and the winter horses coming up hard behind them. This week we start with Blame Rose at Cartmel – its her attitude to watch as she has the ability – hopefully Cartmel will interest her and she behaves and concentrates on her race. Gowanbuster goes to Catterick on Wednesday and, hopefully, scopes permitting, Mekbat and Konik King go to Uttoxeter. Infinite Honour takes his second race with the quality of his first race holding up at Carlisle on Thursday. Friday sees the debut of the Dandyman colt – Dandycan at Carlisle in a hot novice but he should hold his own as he has been very good at home. Infinite Honour takes his second race with the quality of his first race holding up also at Carlisle on a different day! We are also getting organised for National Racehorse Open Day on the 9th September – all welcome and the programme of the day attached – we have 157 booked to come via the National Racehorse site ( Owners do not need to book! ) We also have the first member signed up for the NEW syndicate – Northern Racing – just £750 to buy in and £99 per month per share – more details in the week but looking to buy in the next two weeks! So is this the busiest week we have ever had?

Cartmel Monday 28th - Blame Rose – expectations to behave and enjoy

Catterick Wednesday 30th - Gowanbuster have we the old boy back? Best watched

Uttox Wednesday 30th – Mekbat and KK both best watched especially Mekbat first time over hurdles but I may squander 50P ew on both!

Carlisle Thursday 31stInfinite Red – should go well

Carlisle Friday 1st September Dandycan – should go well – both depending on the competition of course!

Fingers crossed all our runners go well and the virus is behind us!

PS donations for Cancer Research still coming in – update next week!
