Hi

Susan Corbett's Newsletter

Greetings from the Emerald Isle! We are home Monday and have spent our time looking at young horses and meeting people we have dealt with from afar.

What a great start to the jumps season with another!! winner at Kelso this week. Beyond the Verge has been with us for a year- replacing the retired Wor Verge- initial issues meant the Goodfellow Partnership having patience... an excellent trait in any Owner!

He has been ok on the gallops- and we expected a good run but a great surprise when he beat a small but good field of bumper horses. He was very green and will grow up a lot from his first day at school- another great ride from Nathan. Our stats are excellent with a 32 perc strike rate- 19 runs 6 wins and 4 places. Long May it continue! All horses are coming to fitness nicely and we are also getting them all schooled - very good when we have excellent riders who can school well.

In our breeding side the foals were weaned this week with none of the three mares looking back when they were returned to the field. The foals are stabled next to each other and will get more handling before being turned out and fed in the field before the cold weather sets in.

The Tweed Valley Racing Club yearling was gelded this week. All well ! While the home bred 'Freddie' and Ivan's Legacy work together and head for 3 year old bumpers.. So powder still dry until Rogers Dream at Musselburgh on Oct 2nd then off to Hexham and Beyond! Full details of our runners next week!
