The Dan Skelton trained Beakstown runs at Doncaster today 13.40 6/1 in the Sky Bet Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (2m4½f). In 2020 he contested a Listed hcap race at the Cheltenham Festival coming 5th.

A setback in training then kept him off the track for 600 days when he returned at Aintree in a class 3 hcap chase where, needing the race, he came a creditable 3rd

He then failed to land a blow in a hot Group 3 as 2nd favourite in the Racing Post Gold Cup Chase at Cheltenham last December.

Today's easier race at Doncaster should prove within his grasp and at 13/2 early price makes a decent bet.
