Hi Susan Corbett's Newsletter: So what a week this was – I will include the fact that Les’s Legacy takes over from Ebony Rose in the most prize money won in one race! It was a brilliant week with Atomic Angel just being beaten ¾ length in a thrilling race at Hexham – back to her old self after her last Hexham run. Then it was the turn of En Meme Temp – he came from another yard and went through the book of injuries – even to the extent of the owners Ian and Jason being invited to the yard to say their goodbyes as he had done something severe to his leg! Needless to say that was sorted and he put his best foot forward under a thrilling finish by Sam Coltherd to win his first race for us by a neck. Ebony Rose went off to stud to visit Schiaparelli and Bahrikate and Morning with Ivan both are visiting Kingston Hill. Saturday saw the entries at the Spring Mile at a 22 limit – last year there were 8! Which is why Daryl persuaded me it was a good call to enter Clear Angel. Good call from Daryl as the ground went his way and he was beaten by 3 lengths into 6th place – imagine 38K if he had won! However it was brilliant! I will take 6th place in our first Group Two any day! Velasco runs this next week at Wetherby – he is a horse we have struggled to get the best out of so I am hoping he has turned a corner and does well on Thursday in a 3 mile 0 – 100. New Horse I have attached some information about a new horse we are considering to buy – anyone interested please get in touch. The plan would be to get her asap and run her in bumpers – she is a big strong mare who has been given plenty of time to mature. As a winner of a Point o Point she is a reasonable price due, I am sure, to the fact she is a mare and chestnut! Please get in touch if you, or you know anyone who would be interested.
